Fuse readies new slate, rebrand

U.S. cable network Fuse is readying its new slate of original content, including the World of Wonder-produced Transcendent, to coincide with a brand re-launch on September 30.

The fresh series accompany a previously announced rebrand that will see the network introduce an overhauled logo and brand aimed at generating original music, comedy, culture and lifestyle programming.

Fuse Launching New Original Programs, Including Series From Relativity Media

“Transcendent” will be the first original series to debut on the new Fuse. The docu-series produced by World of Wonder (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) documents the lives of the trans women who perform at San Francisco’s AsiaSF Cabaret & Restaurant. It will be preceded on Wednesdays this fall by the cabler’s highest-rated show, “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce,” which returns for season four on September 30.

In and out of the national eye for more than five years as she battled for the right to use the girl’s bathrooms at her public school in her Orono, Maine, trans teen Nicole Maines is back in the spotlight — but this time, she’s living out her acting dreams. Maines, a 17-year-old high school senior, will make her small-screen debut in a June 23 episode of USA’s medical dramedy Royal Pains, playing young transgender choreographer Anna.
