I used to be heavily involved in politics, but it’s too frustrating for me. I prefer other ways to create change. I will always believe in America and the promise it holds for everyone.
People are sometimes surprised how patriotic I am. I make a lot of jokes, but that’s because I can. I revel in the freedom to say whatever I want. And the only reason I can is because of some of the few things I take very seriously: the American rights to free speech, a free press, the separation of church and state, the right to protest, and the right of all citizens to have a say in our shared destiny.
Stay hopeful and stay vigilant, and never be afraid to make yourself heard in whatever manner works best for you, even (or especially) if you disagree with me. Inaction is the only true enemy of democracy. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave, so live up to those words every day!
