Filmmaker Nelson Pena is looking for someone to star in his new film. He writes, “The film is about a black South Central LA girl who is verbally and physically abused by her cheating boyfriend. Upon discovering that she’s pregnant, she has to choose whether to keep or abort her unborn child. In contrast, her best friend, an openly gay Latino male, is in a well-grounded, long-term relationship based on trust, love and respect. This film is deeply rooted in real issues. About the character: MAGGIE, mid-20s, is an openly gay Latino male who strongly identifies with being a woman. She doesn’t care what people think of her and she demands respect. The film will be roughly twenty-seven minutes long, it will be shot over the course of six days and the actor who plays Maggie will be needed for three days. Unfortunately, there’s no pay. Should you have any questions, feel free to email or call me at 310.994.2700.”
