Lynn Conway also put up a nice shot of “Juanita” and me. I first met her in 2003 when all the Bailey mess started, since I knew lots of people in the Chicago trans community. Everyone we have tracked down who was depicted in Bailey’s book turned out to have a much more complex story than how he presented them. We had a great time in Cincinnati – we are the same age and both called Chicago home for a long time, so there’s always plenty to talk about.
